We are proud to serve as a Prevention Resource Center, one of only ten providers leading Missouri in community-based, primary prevention of substance use, suicide, and other behavioral health challenges. Our prevention work focuses on reducing risk factors and building protective factors by strengthening communities, educating individuals, and empowering youth.<\/span><\/p>

Through our contracts\u00a0with the\u00a0<\/span>Missouri Department of Mental Health<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Division of Behavioral Health, we partner with local\u00a0coalitions, schools, businesses, and\u00a0other\u00a0community\u00a0organizations to create safer, healthier environments where\u00a0adults and youth\u00a0can thrive.<\/span><\/p>

Primary prevention focuses on reducing risk and increasing protective factors before substance use or related harms occur. Rather than responding after a crisis,\u00a0prevention\u00a0work builds knowledge,\u00a0resiliency\u00a0skills, and\u00a0community\u00a0systems that support long-term wellness for individuals and communities.<\/span><\/p>
